Being a member of Mount Zion PMBC, I am a photographer in the Media Ministry.  That allows me a huge platform to tell stories in digital media.  Like other years, MZ's sponsored community marching band, Children's Church, Youth Ministry along with our Leader, Pastor Louis M Murphy marched.  To my naive surprise, the community came out in all shades of all ages and socioeconomic groups to enjoy the Parade. 

The opportunity to shoot as part of the  parade gave me an opportunity to be up close and personal and sense the anxiety of the Tuskegee University Marching Pipers as they warmed up before the parade and capture the exhausted relief of the Florida A&M University Marching 100 as they rounded the last corner of the route.

What was most telling was those marchers of conscious carrying their signs expressing the thoughts about the lack of civil society and growing political discord in our system and Capital City, Washington, D.C.
